Dr. Margo Billings
DAc, MAc CHM, LAc, Owner & Acupuncturist (she/her)
Margo’s approach blends classical Chinese medical traditions with evidence-based practices to achieve symptom relief and improved health for her patients. Her distinctive style stems from clinical training at two complementary institutions - one grounded in classical East Asian medical practices, the other focused on scientific research and modern clinical applications. Margo’s rootedness in these contrasting lineages provides unique depth and breadth to her approach as a practitioner.
She additionally has completed post-graduate training focused specifically in pediatric acupuncture, and she is experienced in navigating the nuances of working with younger patients and their families.
Above all, Margo finds great meaning and purpose in guiding patients toward their own power in shaping their individual health outcomes. Her areas of special interest include pain management, nervous and endocrine system regulation, and mental-emotional wellness. She also enjoys supporting adults through the process of aging, including for those experiencing hormonal fluctuations, complex metabolic syndromes, degenerative joint conditions, and urogenital changes.
While Margo enjoys treating adults and children of all ages, she has a particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults experiencing mental health symptoms. As a teenager, Margo herself struggled with anxiety and emotional regulation. She experienced firsthand the complexity and reward of learning to build a life of greater balance over time - overcoming these challenges as she matured into adulthood. Decades later, as a step-parent of teenagers experiencing their own growing pains, she came to deeply understand the pivotal role that families and other trusted adults can play in guiding teens through turbulent times. As a practitioner, Margo has seen how useful acupuncture and Chinese medicine can be - capable of supporting adolescents as they find new levels of clarity and self acceptance, and helping to create the space necessary for them to fully become themselves.
Margo was born and raised in Maine and currently lives in Cumberland with her partner, their two children, their rascally cat, and their sweet dog. She feels lucky to wake up each day surrounded by the woods and waters of our beautiful state.
